Privacy policy

This page explains what personal data HowItSolid.works collects through this website, why, how long it is kept, and what rights you have over it. It is written to meet the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who is responsible

HowItSolid.works operates this website and decides how personal data submitted through it is processed — it is the data controller. For anything in this policy, or to exercise any of the rights below, write to hello@howitsolid.works.

To be completed before launch: full legal entity name, registered address and company registration number. GDPR requires the controller to be identifiable, so this policy is not finished until those are filled in.

What we collect

Only what you type into the contact form: your name, work e-mail address, optionally your company, the topic you select, and the message you write. Nothing else about you is collected — this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no third-party scripts, and has no tracking pixels or advertising tags.

Your browser's language preference and the artifact of which language button you last pressed are stored in your own browser (localStorage) so the site opens in the same language next time. That value never leaves your device and is not personal data we can see.

When you submit the form, Cloudflare — which serves this site — processes your IP address and the two-letter country code derived from it as part of delivering and protecting the request. We store the country code with your enquiry so we know which time zone to reply in; we do not store your IP address.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

To answer your enquiry and, where it leads to one, to prepare and deliver training or consulting. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by the checkbox on the form, and — once we are discussing concrete work — steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

We do not use your details for newsletters or marketing, we do not profile you, and we make no automated decisions about you.

Who else sees it

Two processors, both acting only on our instructions:

Both are US-based and may process data outside the EU; transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Your details are never sold, rented, or passed to anyone for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 24 months. Where an enquiry becomes a contract, the related records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or hand it over in a portable format. Because we rely on consent, you can also withdraw that consent at any time — which does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.

Write to hello@howitsolid.works and we will respond within one month. If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully, you can complain to your national supervisory authority — in the Czech Republic, the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, uoou.gov.cz).

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. Material changes affecting data already collected will be communicated to the people concerned.

This policy is published in English only. The Czech and German versions of the site currently link here; localised versions are planned alongside the path-based language routes.
